If you’re not familiar with this book, it’s a collection of tales first mentioned in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Hermione receives the book as a legacy from Dumbledore, and she’s the one who translates the stories from ancient runes so that all wizards and muggles alike can read them.
The best thing about this book, that it was written for charity. The proceeds from its sale all went to support the Children’s High Level Group, an organisation that supports institutionalised and marginalised children.
The collection contains 5 stories and each of them are followed by Dumbledore’s insight’s to the story. Among his other talents and achievements, turns out, he’s got an eye for literature as well.
I love to read anything written by JKR, especially if it’s related to her wizarding world. It gives my that familiar, cosy feeling. I found the stories to be original, with that funny and at times dark twist that has become her trademark. I don’t think I’m able to pick a favorite, but, behind the magic, they touch themes that are very much relevant for our Muggle reality as well, like greed, fear of those who are different, love, etc.
I highly recommend it ! 😉
